Product: Modular reception desk system
Client: Statoil ASA worldwide
Renderings: Placebo Effects
In connection with the major upgrade of Statoil’s brand in 2012/13, K8 was chosen as subcontractor to SDG / Mc Cann to develop a complete modular reception system with a lift (hight adjustable) function and storage functions, as to suit all Statoil’s offices globally. The project demanded fulfilment of requirements for both HR and Branding whilst keeping to time and budget.
K8’s design team worked with the entire process; from research, to design, development and implementation. Research included insight from12 different Statoil offices, conducting interviews, observations and analysis of the users’ needs as well as key re-branding focus points. Presentations and visualizations as well as mechanics and design for manufacture were provided by K8. Three prototypes were built in Norway to test the concept before it was completed and rolled out globally in over 30 locations. K8 also provided prototype assembly to optimize the product.
The result is a modular reception that easily can be installed at various sites across Statoil’s global network. The system provides an adaptive and efficient work and interaction space for those using the reception. This new reception creates an exciting and welcoming introduction to Statoil, incorporating their brand and visual identity.
