Product: Directional sign
Collaborator: Scandinavian Design Group, Grid
Ruter wanted to develop a system of directional signs that could be mounted on many different materials, be cost effective, sturdy, and easy to maintain.
In close collaboration with Ruter and Grid, we mapped the graphics, resulting in cutting down the number of existing sizes of signs, giving a more simple system of modules. Different user groups were involved to test ideas and concepts of installing and maintaining the maps. The signs are sturdy and the graphics can easily be replaced by one person. By opening the side plates, graphics can be slid and lifted out. There is no need to remove any parts when changing the graphics, and therefore no risk of parts missing.
The product is now a smart modular kit with different mounting options and different sizes within one setup.
The signs are now mounted at many stops in the city of Oslo.
